Autistic Community of Cornwall (ACC)

The ACC has been established by Autistic people for Autistic adults in Cornwall. We welcome diagnosed and self identifying adults.

We are a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) and not for profit organisation. In 2023 we were granted National Lottery funding to support our activities.

Our members are also involved in delivering training, advocacy and consultation with various services and decision makers.

We have developed a mentorship and befriending scheme to arrange peer support for individuals who would like to talk directly to another Autistic person. This is often valued by people who are newly diagnosed or have recently decided to self-identify as Autistic.

Discussion from Autistic people is leading what kind of support is needed to develop coping strategies for living in a non-Autistic world. We have found that spending time with, and learning from, other Autistic people is more beneficial to mental health and wellbeing than traditional therapies and medication.

If you are an Autistic adult and interested in any of the following:

  • Being linked to a mentor or advocate

  • Signposting to members who can provide training designed and delivered by Autistic people

  • Signposting to members who can provide advice for strategic planning and service development

Please feel free to contact us by using the appropriate email links above.

Our Partners

Partnership working – we are stronger together!

As many of us know there is a considerable overlap between a number of minority

groups and communities. For example, a number of us are also members of the

LGBTQ+ community and Transparent Presence CIC.

Also, we have similar aims and values to a number of other community groups.

Youth Art Connect CIC runs creative art activities for young people in order to

promote connection and positive mental health.
